Winter Weekend at Tri-State Bible Camp
2001

It was perfect winter weather for
Winter Weekend. Deep snow, sunny days and moderate temperatures all combined
for a great snow camp. But the best of all was the excellent attitude,
behavior and respect the young people brought with them. From the very
start every young man and young woman had a spirit of co-operation and anticipation. The Lord blessed in many different ways and many different
times over the weekend. There was a special joy in seeing some that were
saved last year return for this year's Snow Camp.

Pastor Doughty
and
Pastor Frank
Led the chapel services.
Because so many had to travel a long
distance it was late before we had our first service. Yet these young
people sang joyfully to the Lord and when the preaching started all gave good
attention to the Word of God. Many came forward to submit themselves to
the authority of the Lord in their life. Even at the midnight devotions
all were alert and eager to hear what God had for them.

After breakfast the next day we had
another service. Again open and tender hearts responded to the touch of
God upon them. Many prayed alone. Some prayed with others. But all who
responded did so with a real concern for keeping their lives clean and usable
for the Lord. Much of the rest of the day was spent building snow men, sliding
down suicide hill and playing games.

Lets not forget the
"Little Snow Man"

Suicide Hill

Later in the afternoon we had
another time in the chapel which ended with heartfelt testimonies of the Lord
dealing with lives. I gave a challenge to sell out to the Lord 100% and be
held accountable for what they
testified. The boldness of so many of these
young people amazed me. One by one they came to stand by the preacher and
give testimony of selling out to the Lord Jesus 100%. Some told of a call
to the mission fields and Christian ministry. Some included a prayer
request for unsaved parents. At which time we stopped everything and
prayed. The tears flowed amid sometimes stumbling words of such
sincerity. Some wanted to be bolder for the Lord in school (even in
Christian school). They were open, honest and pointed in their
testimony.
Many
life long friends were made. Christian young people need to know they
don't stand alone in their faith. The Lord has a multitude of young men
and women who have not bowed the knee at the altar of the world. If one
would take a stand others will also find boldness to stand with them. I
wish you could have heard them express that in their own words, it was a thrill,
a blessing and challenge to my own heart.
These young people did not ATTEND
the services they were PART of it. I will miss them. I so enjoyed their
fellowship in fun and prayer.
