Pastor Charles Madaus

It had been some time since I was in
West Virginia and what a wonderful time of year it was to return. The fall
was just setting in and made for a pleasent drive to this great church.
So much prayer and fasting went into
this meeting you could feel the power of God the minute you entered the
building. For several weeks before the meeting I received letters and
cards from the folks telling me they are praying and expecting the Lord to
work. The Lord did work, greatly. Each service seemed as if the Lord
was just pouring out His grace and blessing.
In all I think eight were saved
(including some who have been long prayed for) and thirteen baptized in the
Sunday and Wednesday services. Such was the moving of God that in several
services no invitational song was sung as broken hearts made their way to the
altar during the preaching. The pleading of the Holy Spirit was the
invitation for the altar call. I just stopped preaching and let God have
His way. Not bad advice for ANY preacher!
On
Sunday morning 345 filled the church.
Each day I went calling with Pastor
Madaus on soul-winning visitation. We went to encourage a Christian woman
who had some sorrow in the death of a loved one. She was not home
but her husband was and Pastor Madaus led him to a saving knowledge of Jesus
Christ. How wonderful it was to kneel in his living room and hear his
calling on the name of the Lord for salvation.

All the folks were so very kind
to me during my stay there. The love of the Lord surly did show in
their lives. The music, the services and fellowship will not soon be
forgotten. May the Lord continue to bless in greater ways in the
days to come. |
