Rosedale Baptist Church

Hammonton, New Jersey

Garry Jones, Pastor

New Jersey is always special to me for several reasons.  My very first Pastorate was in New Jersey and my first son was born in the Garden State.  So going back always brings fond memories to my mind.

Easter 2010

pastoreIt has become a tradition to be at Rosedale each  Easter week .   It truley is special time  each year.

I am still rejoicing over the blessing of souls saved and lives touched.

The Power of the Ressurection is KEY to the Christian life and and the Christian faith.  It is not just a doctrone but the life blood of our hope.

We started on Wednesday night and preached each night and Sunday Services.

The church house was filling with people whose hearts have been stirred in the past four services.  Smiles, hugs and shouts of "Hallelujah Christ is risen" filled the air and echoed within the walls of the building.  You could feel the excitement and joy of Easter Morning. Christ is Risen!

Mat

I was not alone in preaching in this meeting.  Pastor Jones invited my son Matt and his family to join me on Friday to Sunday.  Matt also brought my dear and sweet wife to be with us.  While I preached Wednesday and Thursday, Matt preached on Friday, we both preached on Saturday then I preached Sunday Morning and Matt closed out the meeting Sunday Night.  There was a path to the altar in each service.

Harvest 2009

Once more Pastor Jones and the church invited me and Brother Charles Horton to help the church in its soul winning outreach called "Harvest 2009".  While "Harvest 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008" were such a success the church knows you can't live on past blessings.  They planned another harvest out reach. This once more was a fantastic week of blessing and WORK!   An excellent number of believers signed up to help go door to door, drive busses, prepare food and attend this very aggressive out reach.

These Harvest Times  are always a "working" conference.  We began on Wednesday night as Brother Charley Horton challanged our hearts in soul-winning and the vision was set.  On Thursday morning we met for prayer  and once again Brother Horton gave some instruction on personal evangelsim.  We then hit the streets until 1 pm.  By early evening we gathered at the church for prayer and BACK to the streets until about 8 pm.  Prasise Board

On Friday we did it all over again!!  New folks joined us and the teams grew larger enabling us to reach more areas in a shorter amount of time.  Once more on Saturday morning more homes were reached.  Also on Saturday a small singing group went with me to the downtown area where I preached on the street.  During that time a man was saved on the street corner.

Bus Young, old, male and female all joined in to make the Gospel known to a lost and dying word.

In all  ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY doors were knocked on and  1,250 Gospel of John and Romans, tracks and material were distributed.  What a wonderful victory in spite of the devil's hatred for such endeavors.  The seed of the Word of God will produce a good harvest in the days to come.  While some say we need new methods it is plain and simple that house to house is an old method that works if you work it right through the power of prayer and dedication.

Personally I always enjoy working and fellowshipping with Brother Horton.  Over the years he has proved himself to be a faithful and aggressive soldier of the Lord.

The Sunday Services

On Sunday Morning I taught a combined adult and youth class in Sunday School.  We had a wonderful Lord's day services of singing, special music and preaching.

Easter 2008

pastoreIt was wonderful to preach the Gospel  during Easter week at Rosedale Baptist Church.   Many special blessing were given by the Lord.  I am still rejoicing

We started on Wednesday night thinking of the Cross of Christ.  Centering our thoughts on His pain, His sufferings and how "He who knew no sin became sin for us".   We saw the depth of human sin, the height of God's Love and the breadth of the Lord's forgiveness.  So it was the day Christ died.

Each message and service was pointing to "Sunday Morning is coming!!"

Sunday Morning did come!!!  The church house was filling with people whose hearts have been stirred in the past four services.  Smiles, hugs and shouts of "Hallelujah Christ is risen" filled the air and echoed within the walls of the building.  You could feel the excitement and joy of Easter Morning. Christ is Risen!

On Thursday I also preached to the students in the home school program.  While I taught the Adult Sunday school, Matt had the young people.

Nothing is as thrilling as seeing faithful people stay faithful.  Over the years these two (among) others have remained steadfast for the Lord

Deacon Richard Watson

I asked this dear sister how long she has been playing for the Lord and she told me "Since I was five"

There are others of course who have fought the fight for the Word of God and have not forsaken the work of the Lord in Rosedale Baptist Church.  I am always glad to see, all across America, such unselfish and undying love for the ministry.
