Promised Land Baptist Church

Canaan Connecticut

Pastor Gregg Birkholz

Can you imagine preaching in Canaan at the Promised Land Baptist Church!!!  That is Canaan, Connecticut by the way.

Located in the upper Northwest corner of Connecticut, deep in the foot hills of the Berkshire mountains stands this witness for the Lord Jesus. A very appropriate name for a Baptist Church located in a New England town by this name.

Update

Once again I entered the Promised Land.  Of course you know it was the Promised Land Baptist Church.   It had been a while since I was here and was glad to see new faces among  many of our friends whom we have known over the years.  The preaching of the Word of God was so well received, both in the morning and evening services.   There was no doubt the Lord spoke in so many different ways to many different people.  The Pastor shared with me the good report of God's goodness in the ministry.

Pastor and Mrs. Birkholz had a special 25th marriage renewal service recently.  At the invitation of the Birkholzs' many pastors and friends attended the very moving service.  Their love for each other has integrated  with the love of the ministry.  Faithfulness, dedication and a walk with God has characterized both their personal life and their years of service at Promised Land Baptist Church.  Their child show this same Godly character as they also walk in the ways of the Lord.

The day following the wedding renewal service I preached the Sunday Services.  Again I was thrilled to see new folks coming to the church attending the services.

My son Matt and his dear wife Tricia came and sang special music.  They are always ready to serve in the gospel ministry.

The Lord has blessed this work in spite of much opposition of the devil.  Our most recent revival meeting went very well with new visitors in every service.

The Spirit of the Lord filled the building and our hearts as only He can.   Each service ended with a full altar as the moving of God was so evident upon those who sought His will and blessings.   I spoke to  young man who attended the service Monday night and he was wondrously saved.  The next night he returned and stood and quoted James 1:25 from memory.  Only twenty four hours old in the Lord and quoting Scripture from his heart.  Praise the Lord.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the word, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

The church has several young men and women in Bible and Christian Colleges.  Thank God for a ministry that brings forth fruit in added laborers in the whiten harvest fields of the world.  I met new members, visitors and got reacquainted with the faithful who have stood strong in days of weakness and lower standards.  The Lord gave Mrs. Souza and I wonderful travel times.

The special music was a real blessing and added to the good spirit of the meeting.

The Pastor's son and daughter worked very hard this summer in the ministry of the church.  Also Adam, a young man from PCC (where Pastor Birkholz children also attend) came to help out in visitation and soul winning.
