Summer Camp 2009

They came, they looked around, they were perplexed.  Hummm , out houses?  Sleep in tents on boards? Pull a rope to get water for a shower?  For a wimpy teen this would be enough to call home --- "COME AND GET ME".

But these young people were extraordinary, dedicated and willing to give God a change to work in their lives.  And God DID work in a might way.

I really enjoyed preaching this week to this group of kids.  I will long remember this camp.

Pledge Poster

In all around Fifty Five young people came to New Life Camp for a week of spiritual growth and seeking the will of the Lord in their lives.  The grace of God touched us all.  Souls were saved, assurance received and seven young men established God's will in their lives for preaching the Gospel. Over Forty made pledges of purity at the Prayer Tables and over Ninety percent signed their name on on the "Blank Poster Board" telling the Lord, "Ok I already signed it, now Lord just fill it in with your will."

Camp is over now but the reports of the fire in the hearts of these young people continue to pour in.  They are sitting in the front rows of the church eager to hear the preaching of the Word of God.  They are organizing prayer groups and asking their pastor and youth workers to take them out soul-winning.  They cleaned out their iPods and redid their Face Book profiles.  God has raised up a mighty band of youth who are determined to "Praise the Lord and Shame the devil"

Pulpit

This pulpit may not have been fancy but it sure was made for hard preaching!

At the heart of any Bible Camp is the
study of God's Word and prayer.
Bible Time Bible Time
Prayer Time Prayer Time

The Camp was not so much FOR the campers in that we had to do things to make them happy -- it was a camp by the campers as they put  much effort into the experience of serving the Lord as the adults.   In other words it was not a camp FOR them but a camp BY them also.  I felt they were part of the team to working together to the Glory of God.
