Each year on the first Sunday in December, I am
at the Calvary Baptist Church in Middletown RI. I have been
doing this now going on 25 years. We have seen the Lord work
greatly over the years in this good church. Souls saved,
lives transformed and young people called into the Gospel ministry
are but some of the fruits of this church

It was in the basement of this house (located
next to the church) I first preached here. I was one of the
few who didn't have to preach ducking the beams overhead. As
the Lord blessed, a new building was erected and expanded to
accommodate those who are attending the services.

The church has doubled the auditorium over the
years and added a full fellowship and school wing.
The Lord has led Brother Scott Tucker and his
family to this fine church to carry on the work of the Gospel
ministry.
It is a joy to work with this man of faith,
vision and zeal. He stands true to the Word of God and has the
high standards demanded of Scripture for a man of God in the
ministry.
Thank the Lord for willing servants to work the
fields white unto harvest.
I taught the Adult Sunday School
class and preached the Morning and Evening services. As has been
my custom over the years, I took a few minutes to honor the Men and
Women and their families who are part of the United States military.
Being so close to Pearl Harbor Day it was fitting and proper to show
respect to those for who defend our freedom and liberties both in the
past and present time.
It is always
awesome to see the power of the Lord through the
preaching of His Word. So many hearts and lives were touched in so
many ways. I often stand amazed how the simple preaching of the
cross melts hearts for salvation, dedication and restoration. As
Paul told Timothy "the
Word of God is not bound". 2Ti 2:9

What an outstanding job the choir did on an arrangement called
"America Roll On". Patriotic and heart moving. |

For as long as I remember
young people have always been active in the ministry of this
Baptist Church.
Over the years I have see them grow up into adulthood.
Some are on the foreign mission field, some in ministries here
in America and some now involved in the this church in which
they grew up. |

The white
dots you see in the window is SNOW!
It started just before the evening service. It was not too
bad driving but it did take us twice the time than usual to get
home. An accident caused us to be parked for over an hour
on the interstate and other accident for about half an
hour before that held us up.
In all we saw six accidents on the way home but the Lord's hand
was upon us and all we lost was some time and fuel. |

The Christian Academy is fulfilling the teaching
of the Scripture to train up a child in the way of the Lord.
The teachers and workers in the Academy are
dedicated, hard working and faithful to the Word of God. I
have known them for a number of years and their dedication has only
grown stronger over time.
Mid Year Update
My usual time
to be here is in December. Brother Tucker
invited me to come and preach at the 32nd Anniversary
of the founding of the church. The Lord blessed
with souls saved and Christians in all the services
were renewed in faith in vision. The
Anniversary Service closed out the Summer Revival.
I enjoyed my days here so much.
On Saturday
morning about 40 people met at the church to go out
into the streets door knocking passing out the Gospel
of the Lord. It was threatening rain and did
rain some, but a little water was not enough to keep
us from fulfilling the Lord's command. Later
that evening a man drove into the church parking lot
and was reading the church sign getting the time of
the Sunday Services. Cars began to come in as
folks were arriving for that nights meeting. He
asked why there these folks coming on a Saturday
night. He was invited to the services and came
both that night and Sunday Services.
The combination of visitors attending, souls
saved and Christians revived makes for a great
meeting.

It can not be over stated that good Godly music
always prepares the heart for the Word of God. |
