Massena is located in upper New York State on the St. Lawrence River.   As you might expect, the winters can be very cold and sometimes brutal.  But that has not caused the good folks of Central Baptist Church to lose their fire for evangelism nor its warm Christian spirit .

The last time I was here, the church was without a pastor and seeking God's man to teach, lead and Shepard them.  The Lord brought Brother Robert Deugan and his family to the church.  There is great vision and anticipation of what the Lord is going to do in the days to come.

Everything seemed to be perfect for the meetings. The Lord gave wonderful weather and He gave His blessing upon the preaching of the Word of God.  Tender hearts were moved by the Lord in each service.  Seemed like the Lord had something special for each one each service.   Much soul searching took place at the altar.  Many who came to the altar in tears returned to their seats in joy as the Holy Spirit worked.

Special music helped to prepare the heart and soul for the ministry of the Word.

On Saturday morning the men met at the church for breakfast and prayer.  The men did a great job in preparing the food and the of time of prayer was so sweet.  It really was good to have men pray in earnest fashion and in deep concern for God's will.

The power went OUT

During the message Sunday morning the electrical power was lost.  It didn't hinder the service in the slightest.  The power of the Lord prevailed.   However, after the Sunday Morning service there was a potluck dinner in the church basement.  Quick thinking on the part of the ladies turned what would be a very darkened hall into a candle light dinning room.  It's pretty hard to stop a Baptist from preaching and eating!!
