Maranatha Baptist Church Youth Camp 2002

Elkton,  Maryland

The ministry of Maranatha Baptist Church of Elkton, Maryland, seems never to be lacking in vision.  Having preached at the 2001 Camp Meeting, ( Maranatha Baptist Church Camp Meeting )I once again was privileged to be back under the Shiloh Tabernacle for Youth Camp 2002.  The Lord blessed in so many ways in the lives of the young men and women who attended the camp.  Several were saved and all were touched and moved by Spirit of the Lord in some measure.   None were unaffected by the call of the Lord to heed His Word and find His will.  Each service seemed a stepping stone to the next service lifting our hearts from the world, the flesh and the devil unto the Lord.

Preaching with me was Brother Bill Behrens.  We each preached twice a day alternating in the morning and evening sessions.

In all, over fifty young people were registered for camp

Brother Bryan Greene was the camp director and leader.  His leadership, vision and enthusiasm was evident as each day and each activity went smoothly with an element of anticipation.   The love he has for the young people came across clearly and without apology.   It was great working under his leadership.

The Camp Choir was a blessing and inspiration for all of us.

While there was much preaching there was also much time for Christian fellowship and fun.  Throughout the day many activities were planned and enjoyed by all.  One of the "main" attractions was the Dunking Machine.  A tank of water that allowed the "victim" to fall down when a thrown ball hit a target.  AND YES Brother Souza DID get dunked!!!!  (many times too - being 90+ degrees I endured it).  Below is Brother Pratt who led the way!

No camp can be success without good food!!  I must say the kitchen staff did a marvelous job in preparing three meals a day for the week.  The cooking was only outdone by the sweet, loving and joyful attitude the dear ladies exhibited.  Smiles, pleasant words and genuine love of labor to the Lord served as a testimony of their servant's heart.
