New England
Church Planting Conference
Lakes Pond Baptist Church
Waterford, Connecticut
"And so were the churches
established in the faith,
and increased in number daily." Acts 16:5

The Lord is doing a great work in the New England States. The hearts
of pastors and people are being stirred by the Spirit of God to reach this great
harvest field with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A good number of pastors,
missionaries, evangelists as well as church people gathered at this conference.
The purpose of the conference was to ENCOURAGE us to faithfully press on
in the ministry of the local New Testament Baptist Church; Also to
CHALLENGE each other to step out by faith and help plant Independent Baptist Churches
throughout the five New England States. And finally to ENABLE men to plant
churches by giving of ourselves by the grace of God to help supply the needs of
others.

Men gathered at an afternoon meeting to share burdens, blessing and
visions of New England.
Evangelist Gary Gillmore, Pastor Doug Meader and myself preached during
the two day meeting.
Men from Maine to Maryland were present. We did not pack out the
church house but our hearts were touched by God and our cup was full and running
over.

Brother Breeden tells of God's call to Maine.

Brother Rick Davis has established a new church in Brooklyn
Connecticut. The Lord has blessed the work greatly with souls saved and a
building purchased!

What a blessing to have Maryland Baptist Bible College from Elkton,
Maryland represented at the conference. You could sense the vision,
passion and zeal of the men from this great school. Thank God for a Bible
College that stands "true" not only in doctrine but in practice of the
Word of God.
Not a conference of TALK----
but ACTION.
Pastor
Meader does not just talk about starting churches but is doing it. He
and his church have started the City Wide Baptist in New London CT. While
the new church is just six miles from his current ministry he testified of God
blessing BOTH works. As he said, there are thousands of people between New
London and Waterford that must be reached.

Pastor Meader
While the Lord allowed me to speak three times during the
conference, it was evident He spoke many times to hearts. Many thanks to
the gracious people of Lakes Pond Baptist Church and Pastor Meader for hosting
this conference. Thank you also for the kindness you showed to us in the
wonderful meals and hospitality given.
