Bethel Baptist Church

Over the years my family and I have traveled to Florida to visit Faith's family.  While it is always a blessing to spend time with kin folks.  Our first trip also brought about an expected blessing.  No Christian should ever forsake the Lord's services (Sunday or Mid-week).  After having arrived in our location in Lake Placid we looked in the phone book for a good church to attend.  We came across the Bethel Baptist Church.  Checking out the sign in front of the church, which clearly stated they held to the KJV, we decided to attend.

It is a new work about three years old.  On that first visit, fifteen of us "invaded" the place that Wednesday night.  It was soon apparent this church was what we wanted.  Good gospel publications, missionaries we knew and a faith promise mission program all pointed in the right direction.  We were not wrong or disappointed.

Upon our return this year, Pastor Whipple and all the folks made us feel at home.  Friendly and warm, they were as excited to see us as we were to see them again.

We returned Sunday Morning and Pastor Whipple, taught the adult Sunday School class,  and as before taught an excellent Bible lesson. 

Our hearts were blessed as Pastor Whipple preached the Sunday Morning message.  He also asked me to preach  the Sunday evening service.  It was such an honor to preach the Word of God that night.  The Lord moved on all our hearts.  The altar was visited as hearts were drawn by the Spirit of God.  How wonderful it is when the Holy Spirit leads and we follow. 

There were visitors both Sunday morning and evening.  We also met the new members added since our last visit.  The church just purchased the building they were renting and one of the first items was to install the baptistery!  As Pastor Whipple put it "what kind of Baptist church would this be without a baptistery?"  Amen Brother Whipple Amen!
