Pastor and Mrs. Trojahn |
This was my second trip down to
Blythewood Baptist Church and the Lord blessed in so many ways.
Many good changes were seen, both physically and
spiritually. The church completed the baptistery and made
some general improvement to the building. Several large
signs were put around town to awaken people to spiritual needs.
Actually a number of folks visited the meetings because they
saw the signs. Some even came back and brought visitors.
The spirit of the Lord spoke to hearts in convicting ways. The attendance a couple of nights just about filled the building and the response to the preaching was excellent.
On Saturday morning, before the first meeting, I met with the men for a prayer breakfast. Sure had my fill of great biscuits, eggs and grits. The time spent in prayer was precious and paved the way for the Sunday Services and weekday meetings.
One afternoon Sister Joy had a Bible club at a members home. An excellent group of young people met for prayer, preaching and refreshment. Two indicated their need and desire for salvation. What a blessing to see so many attend to the Word of God. Each one shared prayer requests and then prayed after which I preached.

Throughout the meeting Pastor Trojahn and I visited and knocked on doors. I received a blessing seeing his heart poured out in talking to folks. We met a retired preacher who had to step down from the ministry due to hearth problems, both of himself and his wife. We prayed with him and tried to encourage him. I learned a few things from Brother Trojahn in going door to door with him -- one of which is not all dogs like dog biscuits (I guess you just had to be there!)

Special music and preaching combined to move our hearts for the voice of God to be heard. |

Their love for the Lord, the ministry and God's people is very evident. They are a hard working family in the family of God. |

The Lord brought me into contact with the wonderful church
through this web site. A good brother, Clarence Bennett contacted me about a men's retreat that
Pastor Trojahn asked him to put together. Pastor Trojahn
called me and we had an immediate bond in the Lord and made
plans for the retreat as well as the church services.
When I arrived it was like meeting a life long friend and when
other men arrived more of the same spirit and like mindedness
prevailed.

Our Cabin
As you can see us men really had it rough out on Drehr Island on Lake Murry. But amid the "wild" deer and a stray cat we managed to survive.
Meeting with these men was such a blessing. The Lord spoke deeply to us in matters of Godliness and spiritual understanding.
We laughed, we cried, we prayed and we praised. Sometimes all within minutes of each other.

We spent much time in prayer. There was no rush to do anything except to meet with God. It was precious to spend time in prayer and fellowship.
A hunger to know God's pattern of maturity lingered over each of the Bible times. It truly was a banquet of the Bread of Life and Living Waters of the Spirit.
I believe heart convicting decisions were made that will last and grow in the time to come.

The great spirit of men's retreat was even further evidenced at the church meeting. Again I never laid eyes on these folks, never met them but among real Believers there is a family like acceptance and love that can't be explained.
The church services were blessed of the Lord. Hearts were moved in a wonderful way. The Word of God was woven into our hearts. So many hearts were moved to the altar. Tears flowed and burdens were lifted. God met with us!
One precious soul was saved! But the Lord was working on others. The seed was planted.
The church is finishing up a baptistery and already there are folks who will stand in the waters to give full and public testimony of their conversion to Christ.

With faith and vision the church reaches out to the lost.

Missions is part of the outreach of Blythewood Baptist Church. All across the world the Gospel is sent forth.

This is John, a young man I met soon after I arrived. I liked him - he had boots on! On Sunday he stood and quoted scripture after scripture after scripture. |
Special music when done to the glory of God rather than for man's praise is always a blessing. Brother Gene was at the men's retreat. He and his family sang to the glory of the Lord on the Lord's Day service. |
